July 23, 2020, Pretoria: The mid-life design and specification upgrade has added boldness to the Mahindra TUV300.
The new and upgraded model is currently available at Mahindra dealers across South Africa featuring an updated front-end design and redesigned rear light cluster, and rear spare wheel holder. It is only offered in the top specification T8 model at a price of R254 999.
The new and updated front of the TUV300 is implemented with theatrical renovations, tailored with a fresh grille, front headlamps, and new lower front bumper.
The grille makes the boldest statement of Mahindra’s five-slot grille, with wide chrome-lined slats topped with a chrome lining and bold Mahindra grille. The headlamps have a fresh carbon-black finish to combine with the black-and-chrome grille.
Mahindra added a two squared-off fog lamps as usual and the air inlet has been made bigger on the lower bumper. The lamps and the fresh front scuff plate are completed in a metallic grey. The TUV300 has been improved with a muscular black side cladding between the squared off wheel arches, not forgetting the dark motif on the sides.
Mahindra has restructured the rear-mounted spare wheel cover to attribute a stylish X-design, with an addition of a sporty rear spoiler as standard. Other features include the high-mounted stop lamp, alloy wheels, electrically adjusted and color coded rear-view mirrors and high ground clearance remain normal.
The interior of the TUV300, features the rugged interior theme is still the same, albeit with new silver detailing around the air vents and main controls. The interior is a creation of Mahindra’s designers and the team from the notorious design house Pininfarina, which is part of the Mahindra group.
This bold ride still includes a power steering with steering mounted controls, an infotainment system with Bluetooth phone connectivity and an in-built Voice Messaging system, electric windows, air conditioning, height adjustment for the front driver seat, rear-mounted Intellipark parking assistance and electric windows.
For luxury, safety is a priority with dual front airbags, a proprietary hydro-formed safety cell with impact absorbing channels and side impact bars and ABS brakes with Cornering Brake Control (CBC) and Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD). The TUV300, is a seven-seater with a rear-wheel drive and a tough ladder frame chassis.
Tailored to this robust ladder frame is Mahindra’s 1.5 mHawk turbo-diesel engine, featuring a dual stage turbo charging and common rail direct injection for 73.5 kW of power at 3 750 rpm. The engine also distributes a healthy 240 Nm of torque between 1 600 rpm and 2 800 rpm, which is transported to the driven wheels via a manual five speed gearbox.
With a five-year / 90 000 km service plan and 3 year / 100 000 km comprehensive mechanical warranty and Roadside Assistance Service that comes with the purchase, and after the initial 10 000 km lubrication service, is completed every 20 000 km so be rest assured with the TUV300.
New colors will be available at the launch, from Lava Red, Diamond White, De Sat Silver to Sunset Orange.
