The all-new Jaguar F-Type is more than ready to entice South Africa

The all-new Jaguar F-Type has finally arrived right here in South Africa. It has a much more electric and extraordinary design, paired with advanced dynamics along with heighted attention on driver experience and engagement.

The enchanting F-Type is available in Coupe and Convertible form, this two-seater sports vehicle has come a long way from its world-Car Design-winning predecessor’s form, thanks to its innovative and new slender and angular pixel LED headlights that feature subtly revised ‘Caliligraphy’ J illustrative daytime running lights. At its rear, you will see delicately designed and slim taillights that have ‘Chicane’ LED signatures related to the galvanizing Jaguar I-PACE.

When you have a good look at the F-Types front profile, you will be able to spot the clamshell bonnet that seamlessly flows down to its wide and deep grille with a new hexagonal mesh pattern. Much like its exterior, the F-Type interior is driver-focused. It has also been polished with subtle and modest details addition to a heightened feel of luxurious and action-readiness. Its deployable center air vents and a start button that pulses a red ‘heartbeat’ convey a theater experience all while Jaguar Est. 1935 markings subtly remind the driver of Jaguar’s iconic heritage. Its cabin continues to entice the driver with its smooth Windsor leather, Satin-finish Noble Chrome, Engine Spin metallics and emblem stitch patterns. The Jaguar Leaper R motifs marked headrests are sure to make you feel proud while inside this magnetic F-TYPE.

Some of the standard F-TYPES R-Dynamic equipment include the supreme LED headlights, 6-way electric seat adjustments, 19’’ Alloy wheels, keyless entry, 12.3-inch instrument cluster, Android Auto and AppleCarPlay compatibility, a fixed panoramic roof and six airbags to name a few. The outshining range-topping F-Type R has pixel LED headlights, 12-way memory electric seats, impressive 20’’ Alloy wheel, Ebony Windsor leather and an R body kit all as standard.

The buyer also has three engine options namely a 221kW/400 Nm Ingenium 2.0-litre 4-cylinder P300 engine that reaches 100 km/h in only 5.7 seconds along with an outstanding fuel consumption of 7.2L/100KM, its top speed is 250km/h. Then there’s the supercharged 3.0-litre V6 P380 engine that kicks out 280 kW/460Nm and reaches 100 km in 4.9 seconds with optional rear and all-wheel drive with a top speed of 275km/h. Finally there is a breathtaking supercharged V8 5.0-litre engine F-TYPE R P575 that produces 423 kW/700Nm and blitz 100 km/h in as little as 3.7 seconds with a groundbreaking top speed of 300 km/h.

Change gears like never before thanks to the SportShift gear selector. The F-TYPE Quick shift transmission has been tweaked for nimbler gear changes as well. The torque on demand all-wheel drive system paired with Jaguars Intelligent Driveline Dynamics (IDD) control technology promotes responsive throttle irrespective of the road surface or condition.

A tweaked electric power-assisted steering (EPAS) system provides instant responses to driver input, all while the new springs and anti-roll bars further improve the continuously-variable dampers at the core of Jaguar’s Adaptive Dynamics system. The valves inside each damper and the control algorithms have also been recalibrated to increase both low-speed comfort and high-speed control. The aluminum dye castings rear knuckles with the larger wheel bearings and revised upper ball joints amplify and better the camber and toe stiffness by an outstanding 37 per cent and 41 per cent.

The F-TYPE R has integrated standard large 380mm and 376mm front and rear brake discs, but it can also optionally be specified with Jaguar’s optional Carbon Ceramic Matrix (CCM) braking system. It now features even larger 398mm and 380mm discs and six- and four-piston monobloc calipers with a characteristic yellow finish, this system delivers excellent braking performance with outstanding fade resistance.

A set of specially-developed Pirelli P Zero tyres, 265/35/ZR20 and 305/30/ZR20 in size, are 10mm wider than it was before and thus deliver outstanding levels of grip. These are paired to new 10-spoke, 20-inch wheels in Gloss Black with contrast Diamond-Turned finish and are exclusive to the new F-TYPE R.

All three of the engine derivatives feature vigorous exhaust systems, which are able to be changed from option to standard. Buyers who will choose the 423kW supercharged V8 will benefit from the new Quiet Start function, which guarantees a more delicate, refined sound – the electrically-actuated bypass valves in the rear silencer remain closed until they automatically open up under load. If preferred, Quiet Start can be over-ridden by selecting Dynamic Mode or by pressing the switchable exhaust button before running the engine. The individual crackle and pop on the overrun synonymous with F-TYPE, remains the sounds accurately tuned to suit the range of powerful four-, six-, and eight-cylinder engines.
