Light and quick

Banting, Keto, Paleo and Atkins, we have all heard of these popular dieting plans and how they are uniquely designed to aid a person in weight loss. I think the Suzuki Swift Sport has also heard and has taken a glossy page out of one of those health books- from the previous model to now it has lost 90–kg. The result? A nimble little vehicle that’s easy to maneuver and a little lighter on the juice.

The Concept

If you are looking for fun on a budget, I would definitely recommend the new Suzuki Swift Sport. It’s not your conventional boy-racer vehicle as it offers so much more. Yes, it does have a nippy engine and racy look, but it’s also a bit more practical with better fuel consumption and it has more specs.

The Look

Available in an eye-watering yellow, the Swift Sport is designed to stand out. Chiseled body lines, a cheeky rear spoiler and dual exhaust pipes make out to be a complete package for this sporty vehicle. What I like about this athletic vehicle’s design is the fact that it is easy to identify and that it has adrenaline-boosting through its rubbery veins but, it’s not overpowering and all up in your business with its design.

The Feel

Hop in to experience what else the Suzuki Swift Sport has to offer, and that is more straightforwardness and practicality (which had me thinking: do you need more than that?) Yes, it does have its expected red accents throughout the dashboard and upholstery but that about where the wannabe-racecar ends. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not plain or boring in the least, it’s just more reserved in styling which is something I like because it neatens up the cabin. Space is reasonable within the front as well as the rear and you can take advantage of a 242-litre boot (918-litres when the seats are folded).

The Features

Stay on top of your drive with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is equipped with smartphone connectivity and a reverse camera. Cruise Control, Electric Windows, Central Locking, keyless start and an automatic air conditioning system are all located in the Swift Sport to provide you with a fun-filled and relaxed drive. Safety is taken care of with six airbags, an enforced body structure, Pedestrian Injury Mitigation, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Program, Hill Hold Control, ISOFIX child seat anchorage and side-impact beams.

The Drive

As I?ve mentioned earlier- the Swift Sport has seen some weight adjustment but that is not the only adjustment done to this zippy little city sleeker. The new model now has a turbo strapped to the engine and has seen some tweaking on the chassis and suspension to guarantee you that enjoyable drive. With a spirited 1.4-litre engine, this Suzuki generates an enthusiastic 103kW of power and 230Nm of torque.
