Goodyear South Africa has received the title of Top Employer South Africa by the independent Top Employers Institute. This confirms their intentions to provide the best Human Resources (HR) policies and procedures for their employees. The HR Best Practices Survey looks at twenty topics such as People Strategy, Work Environment, Talent Acquisition, Learning, Well-being and Diversity & Inclusion and more. The tyre manufacturer company finished the HR Best Practices Survey, Validation and Audit which is measured against international standards. They are also the only tyre manufacturer that have accomplished this six times.
“Our mandate is to grow a people-centric organisation and we are fully conscious that our success comes from and belongs to all our employees. That is why we continue to invest in creating the best workplace for our employees to thrive in and to deliver best-in-class tyre brand services to our customers,” said Piotr Czyzyk, Managing Director Goodyear South Africa.
With approximately 2 300 employees in various locations and different departments, Goodyear South Africa is characterised for brilliant working circumstances and exceptional employee management. They focus on people to encourage teamwork and energetic teams.
During the global pandemic, Goodyear South Africa presented home-based work strategies and a rotational programme to make sure the offices do not have more than 50-percent residence. Czyzyk states that the key to success in these strategies is to look at ways to boost and motivate the team.
“This is evident in our strong focus on development and rotation opportunities, nationally and globally. Our people are core in having an agile and innovative organisation that sets the technology and performance standard for the industry. The COVID-19 pandemic has necessitated that we find alternative ways to continue on our mission to develop our people and keep them engaged while working from home,” Czyzyk adds.
Despite the current encounters, Goodyear South Africa aims to impact its workforce for the better and by proudly taking the title of Top Employer, its obvious that they are hitting the nail on the head.
